What you'll be doing:
The incumbent shall form part of a network which carries the day-to-day business within the legal and corporate rules, directives and regulations set forth by the company. He will report functionally to the RPM and disciplinary to the Line Manager.
The incumbent is responsible to recruit, retain, train and evaluate direct reports. Ensure staffs possess up-to-date product and system knowledge and received certification which are required by the government authorities.
Operations Management:
- Responsible for the smooth day-to-day running of the Sea Cargo operations
- Perform quality checks and implement corrective action to address service failure
- Participate joint sales calls with management / sales team / overseas colleagues
- Participate in RFQ/RFI
- Attend clients’ meetings such Quarterly/Monthly business reviews
- Lead the innovation process in terms of information solutions and clients’ feedback out of business review meetings.
- Ensure SOPs are in place and being adhered to by the operations team
- Close collaboration with business development team to achieve business wins and seamless implementation
- Continuous drive to improve operations efficiency and effectiveness
- Prepare annual budget and target setting with support of the MD
- Perform quarterly review on black routings, Core and Preferred Carrier assessments
- Perform monthly analysis on loss making and low performing Branches, “quote log” down to quotation level
- Keep abreast with market trends and developments and share intelligence with management team
Procurement/Pricing:
- Local responsibility for PROCUREMENT
- Meeting and building relationship with core/ preferred carriers
- Ensure 80% of our business is booked with core/ preferred carriers
- Ensure 80% of our business is booked via e-booking
- Annually review of Local Charges together with RPM and GND /TLM
- Enforce DIRECT PROCUREMENT (cut out the middleman)
Product Management:
- Ensure all sales are provided with the right product targets and a competitive pricing to avoid the risk of a TOTAL COST TRAP.
- Ensure retention activities with our TOP accounts.
- Coordinate biggest business opportunities and overview of the most complex businesses like project business such as NAK agreements project business with CPM.
We expect:
- 5 years of experiences in sea freight industry and managerial role
- Development of USP´s and product definition
- Implementation and product launch within sales and operational organization
- Carrier negotiations and personal contacts
- Key account sales and development
- Conversant in both spoken and written English
