Responsibilities:
- Be responsible for managing and optimizing welding processes crucial to semiconductor fabrication.
- Developing and implementing welding methodologies specifically tailored for semiconductor assembly, bonding, or packaging processes.
- Collaborating with design, manufacturing, and quality control teams to integrate welding solutions into semiconductor device assembly procedures.
- Conducting detailed analyses and assessments to select appropriate welding methods, materials, and equipment suitable for semiconductor components.
- Designing and optimizing fixtures or tooling for precise and controlled welding of semiconductor components.
- Establish cost effective & low risk manufacturing process steps/planning from raw material to completion including special processes, for parts involving welding such as vacuum parts.
- Ensuring compliance with industry standards, safety protocols, and semiconductor-specific quality requirements related to welding operations.
- Manage FA project schedule and ensure physical product meets specifications, within budgeted cost and committed timeline.
- Providing technical guidance, troubleshooting support, and training to technicians and junior engineers involved in welding processes.
- Designs and implements improvements to products, processes, tooling or documentation which enhance the utility, quality, reliability or cost effectiveness, encompassing health and safety in the area of responsibility.
- Work with internal & external party to solve engineering issue and implement solution.
- Hands on and work with internal stakeholders to ensure smooth production flow when needed.
- Carry out assigned task by the superior.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, or related field.
- This is the criteria for Welding Engineer with at least 3 years’ experience handling, welding (Orbital/TIG/MIG) process, preferably within semiconductor manufacturing or closely related industries.
- Profound knowledge of welding techniques applicable to semiconductor materials (e.g., specialized metals, ceramics, etc.).
- Experience in both tube and substrate weldment knowledge.
- Well verse in the interpretation and qualification process of AWS, ISO welding specifications.
- Understanding of semiconductor device assembly requirements and the impact of welding processes on device performance.
- Familiarity with cleanroom protocols, handling procedures, and safety measures specific to semiconductor fabrication environments.
- Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a highly controlled manufacturing setting.
- Good communication and collaboration skills to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
- Must be able to communicate effectively with external and internal teams in both bilingual.
- Ability to handle market competition and pressure, maintaining a positive attitude in high-intensity work environments.
- Comfortable to work in Changi North Crescent.
