Position Summary
This Marketing Manager will be responsible for the regional development and implementation of strategies and marketing plans involving product support for selected markets and products to foster and achieve an annual business plan and long-term strategic initiatives.
What You Will Do
Primary responsibilities are for product support through dealers. Dealer administration, in the form of day-to-day interface, is the primary responsibility of region/district managers. Marketing Department has overall responsibility for developing strategies and marketing plans for product support to foster and achieve an annual business plan and long-term strategic initiates.
Each division has similar responsibilities for products that apply to their markets, i.e., forecasted parts sales, PINS/POPS targets, pricing, sales variances, merchandising plans, net revenue yield, accountable profit, training (district/dealer/customer), advertising, promotion, new product requirements, new product introduction, and customer satisfaction. The divisions interface with customers/districts/regions, the product business units, and Parts & Service Marketing to ensure all appropriate factors are considered to maximize results.
Additional day-to-day responsibilities include coverage of large corporate accounts, management of product problems and warranty administration. Point of sales expertise/assistance is also provided by product experts within the division. Dealer Coop advertising plans and financial assistance requests are approved for dealers assigned to each division. Incumbents have responsibility for developing prices to dealers, including authority to approve OTO price discounts, marketing/finance programs, warranty settlements and advertising and promotion plans. Incumbents also have the responsibility to negotiate transfer prices with the product business units and to manage the purchased services agreements with service centers.

What You Have
Requires extensive experience with a thorough knowledge of strategic and market planning, forecasting, parts products, process for new product development/introduction, pricing, product problem management, warranty administration, and the dealer organization.
Must have proven managerial ability and possess good communication and human relation skills including the ability to deal effectively with upper level management at Caterpillar, dealers, and customers (including large corporate accounts).
Must be able to travel extensively – domestically and internationally
