Responsibilities:
St Andrew’s Migrant Worker Medical Centre (SAMWMC) has a non-profit dental clinic with 2 dental chairs that serves Work permit or Special pass foreign workers in the Construction, Marine, Process, Service sectors at a nominal fee.
- Clinical Governance Officer: To provide clinical governance and technical oversight for the dental clinic at SAMWMC in accordance with MOH’s HCSA regulations. It encompasses having to supervise a junior dental officer, and other volunteer dentists.
- Clinical Duties: General dental consultation, taking of diagnostic radiographs, and provide dental treatment of acute and chronic conditions encompassing but not limited to fluoride therapy and oral health instruction, non-surgical periodontal therapy, direct restorative procedures (Amalgam, GIC, Composite), dental extractions, minor oral surgeries (excision of wisdom teeth), non-surgical endodontic therapy.
- Administrative Duties: Responsible for budgeting and submission of budget proposals to HQ and to donors. Tracking, fulfilling and reporting of KPIs set for dental service at SAMWMC. Oversee procurement of required stocks and consumables of the clinic, which includes sourcing for quotes from various vendors. To be in-charge of maintenance and licensing of dental equipment (eg. Dental chair, compressor, autoclaves, X-ray).
- Dental Team Management: Oversee rostering staff, recruitment of dental staff, appraisals of dental staff performances, training of dental staff (eg. Competency assessments), and retention of dental staff. Engagement with dental volunteers to recruit, retain, and roster.
- Patient Management: Oversee and assist team in triaging and booking the appropriate appointments for patients. Communicate effectively with patients to address their concerns, explain treatment options, and alleviate anxieties related to dental procedures. Handle and resolve patient’s feedback and/or complaints of dental services if they arise.
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, including treatment plans, progress notes, and billing information, in compliance with regulatory standards and practice protocols.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Dentistry from an accredited institution.
- Full registration with the Singapore Dental Council and holding a valid license.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience practicing as a Dentist, with proficiency in general dentistry procedures.
- Have required vaccines, or willing to take required vaccines or tests (e.g TDAP, MMR, HepB etc.)
- Strong clinical skills and knowledge of current dental practices and techniques.
- Team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
