NTU-PKU Joint Research Institute mainly focus on joint research in Multi-Modal Big Data Analytics for Smart Cities. The research will support Singapore’s Smart Nation vision that harnesses technology and data to improve living standards, strengthen communities, and create more business opportunities.
The project involves the use of deep learning for object detection, human pose estimation, and 3D face modeling & simulation.
The Senior Research Engineer will be responsible for the development of Computer Vision solutions, as well as planning, implementing, and management of GPU computing infrastructure for research on Computer Vision, Image Processing, and Multimedia Forensics.
Key Responsibilities:
- Working in research teams on Computer Vision projects in object detection, action & event recognition, and scene understanding
- Design, implementation, and management of the GPU computing infrastructure for ROSE Lab
- Hardware installation, and module level failure diagnosis and repair, as well as liaison and management of vendors for systems, storage, network, and server room facilities
Job Requirements:
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science and/or Engineering, or related field
- At least 10-years’ experience in Computer Vision, Linux systems and NVIDIA GPU management and related areas
- Research experience in Computer Vision, Pattern Recognition, Deep Learning, and working with large-scale datasets, in particular in a university or research lab
- Proficiency in systems such as Linux (Ubuntu, centos), shell scripting, Docker, NFS and MooseFS, is mandatory.
- Proficiency in software such as Caffe, PyTorch, TensorFlow, OpenCV, and programming languages such as C/C++ and Python is essential.
- Knowledge of GPU computing, CUDA programming, optimization (eg. with TensorRT), and industry experience in engineering software development would be a strong advantage.
- Good inter-personal skills, with the ability to work with people from varied backgrounds
