Project Manager, Fleet IT

Job Responsibilities

  • Administer and maintain fleet management software solutions, including features for vessel ERP system, Crew management system & Fleet system integration.
  • Collaborate with software developers to customize and enhance software to support fleet management operations.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and define software specifications.
  • Monitor the performance of IT systems and networks on vessels, identifying and resolving technical issues promptly.
  • Oversee the maintenance and management of the IT infrastructure supporting fleet operations, including servers, networks, hardware, and software.
  • Ensure that IT systems are operational, secure, and compliant with industry standards.
  • Implement and enforce cybersecurity measures to protect vessel IT systems and sensitive data from cyber threats.
  • Manage the procurement and maintenance of software applications on vessels. Ensure software licenses are up to date and compliant.
  • Collaborate with IT vendors and service providers to ensure the availability and reliability of IT system on vessels.
  • Negotiate contracts and service agreements as needed.
  • Maintain accurate records of vessel IT systems, configurations, and incidents.
  • Generate reports on IT performance, issues, and improvements for management.
  • To ensure successful delivery of the Fleet project and IT activities

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • At least 5 years' experience in developing and implementing major IT systems (preferrable Fleet, Shipping system), at least 3 years of which should be in a project management or project leadership role.
  • Previous experience in managing IT operations in a maritime or shipping environment is highly preferred.
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Strong leadership and project management abilities.
  • Ability to work in a dynamic and remote maritime environment.
  • Understanding of web services/API interface to various system
  • Good communication & interpersonal skills with strong problem-solving skills.
  • Experience working with overseas partners and stakeholders.
