EHS Engineer – Environmental Programs (Associate Specialist) (WDA)

JOB PURPOSE
• Primary function 1: Support facility Environmental compliance with local regulations and corporate EHS policy and standards.
• Primary function 2: Undertake main EHS support to state-of-art pharmaceutical production facility Tablet manufacturing for at least first 4 months.
• Support development and maintenance of the site EHS management systems including EHS procedures and SOPs as assigned by site EHS Manager.
• Monitor site EHS operation performance to meet the EHS requirements and standards of local authority and corporate.

This is a Career Conversion Programme (CCP for Advanced Biopharmaceuticals Manufacturing Professionals (Place-and-Train) under Workforce Singapore (WSG) and candidates must meet the following criteria and are open to the following conditions:
• PMETs/Mid-Careerist with no prior work experience in Biopharma industry are welcome to apply
• Singaporeans/PRs only
• Open to 2 years contract
WHAT YOU WILL DO
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Provide primary support of site Environmental programs (Air, Water and Waste management) with secondary support to other EHS programs as required.
• Support development of the EHS Management System to meet the company Corporate EHS requirements and local regulations.
• Maintain the site EHS performance to comply with the local EHS related regulations and corporate standards and requirements.
• Support efforts to prevent EHS accident/incident onsite and participate in accident investigations as assigned.
• Perform on-site inspections and audits as scheduled by EHS Leader.
• New Product Introduction – Work with project management team to support upfront EHS assessments to ensure the facility production processes are safe and meets company Standards. During the projects launch, provide EHS expert advice to construction team. During systems/project turnovers, participate in Pre-Startup Safety Reviews (PSSRs), risk assessments meetings and other Turnover assessments.
• May be required to be the secretary of monthly safety committee meetings.
• Develop and maintain assigned EHS procedures and SOPs for site operations.
• Attend daily Tier meetings (multi-functions daily update meetings) to keep abreast of daily safety performance and advise on EHS issues and incidents with shopfloor managers and supervisors.
• Continue to improve the EHS Management System of plant and look to leverage best practices from other company Plants globally.
• Support specific EHS programs as assigned (i.e. Environmental sustainability programs, Environmental data collection/review; Haz. Ops., PHAs) and other duties as assigned by EHS Leader.
• Conduct hazard identification and risk assessments onsite for with operations in accordance with MOM and company guidelines.
• Develop and deliver effective EHS training to employee to enhance their EHS awareness and competencies.
• Report EHS performance and inspection data in corporate system in a timely manner.
• Work as a team member to collaborate with other departments to maintain a good EHS culture on site.
• Support site EHS Leader to keep the EHS related expense within the allocated budget.
• Perform EHS support of assigned area (i.e. specific IPT, Process Safety, Environment, and Industrial Hygiene) and ensure all company and regulatory requirements are met.
• To achieve results while displaying inclusive behaviors and communicating effectively through cross functional teams.
• Implement any tasks or projects effectively as assigned by supervisor as prioritized by business need.
• Complete other projects as assigned by supervisor.
WHAT YOU MUST HAVE
To be successful in this role, you will have:
• Bachelor Degree in Chemical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Chemistry, Safety or other related.
• Preferred minimum 2 years of Environmental engineering and/or Environmental regulatory compliance related experience in the chemical or petrochemical industries. Other EHS related experience (includes General EHS, Process Safety, Industrial Hygiene and Biosafety) will be a plus.
• Candidates with minimum 2 years of process experience in the chemical or petrochemical industries with interest in EHS development may also be considered
