Job Overview:

We are seeking energetic and customer-oriented individuals to join our restaurant as Food Service Crew members. The successful candidates will be responsible for providing exceptional service to our guests, ensuring a positive dining experience, and maintaining high standards of cleanliness and efficiency. This position requires flexibility to work on weekends and public holidays, as well as excellent teamwork and communication skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Customer Service:Greet customers warmly as they enter the restaurant, engaging with them in a friendly and courteous manner.
    Assist customers with menu selections, provide recommendations, and answer questions about ingredients and preparation methods.
    Take food and beverage orders accurately and efficiently, ensuring special requests and dietary restrictions are noted and communicated to the kitchen staff.
  2. Food Preparation and Assembly:Prepare and assemble food items according to established recipes and presentation standards, following food safety and sanitation guidelines at all times.
    Ensure all food items are served promptly and at the correct temperature, maintaining quality and freshness throughout service.
  3. Table and Dining Area Maintenance:Set up and clear tables promptly, ensuring they are clean, properly set, and stocked with necessary utensils, condiments, and napkins.
    Monitor dining areas for cleanliness and appearance, promptly addressing spills, messes, or other issues to maintain a pleasant environment for guests.
  4. Cash Handling and Payment Processing:Process customer payments accurately and efficiently, using POS systems or cash registers to ring up orders, handle cash transactions, and provide change as needed.
    Reconcile cash drawers at the end of each shift, ensuring all transactions are accounted for and discrepancies are reported to management.
  5. Teamwork and Collaboration:Work collaboratively with other team members, including kitchen staff, servers, and managers, to ensure smooth and efficient operations during peak service times.
    Communicate effectively with colleagues to coordinate food preparation, delivery, and service, minimizing wait times and maximizing customer satisfaction.
  6. Cleaning and Sanitization:Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards throughout the restaurant, including dining areas, restrooms, and kitchen areas.
    Regularly clean and sanitize surfaces, equipment, and utensils according to established protocols, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in a similar role in the food service industry is preferred but not required.
  • Flexibility to work on weekends, public holidays, and evenings as needed, with the ability to adapt to changing schedules and demands.
  • Strong customer service skills, with a friendly and outgoing personality and a passion for hospitality.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to interact confidently and professionally with guests and colleagues.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment, multitasking and prioritizing tasks to ensure timely and accurate service.
  • Basic math skills for processing payments and handling cash transactions.
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation principles, with a commitment to upholding cleanliness and hygiene standards.
  • Physical stamina and dexterity to stand for extended periods, lift and carry trays, and perform repetitive tasks.
