Are you up for the challenge of leading in a rapidly growing pharmaceutical company? We're seeking a visionary Plant Director to spearhead strategic initiatives and drive operational excellence in our thriving manufacturing plant!
Reporting to the VP of Operations and Supply Chain Management, you will oversee the manufacturing environment and lead the workforce effectively to achieve operational excellence.
Responsibilities:
- Plan, organize, and manage the site to ensure timely production, product quality, plant safety, and regulatory compliance. Establish, maintain, and improve site facilities, equipment, and utility capability. Set up and enhance departmental workflows, continuously improve productivity and operational efficiency, and reduce operational costs. Ensure that site daily operations meet or exceed company strategic goals.
- Prepare and implement the company's production plan, coordinate resources, improve productivity and operational efficiency, meet orders on time, and ensure product quality and process safety.
- Oversee departmental management and team building, including managing plant daily operations, meeting client expectations, and ensuring GMP/EHS/FDA compliance.
- Collaborate closely with R&D teams, QA, QC, and other departments to ensure seamless tech transfer, successful scale-up, and commercial production. Continuously improve plant technical capabilities and engineering capacity. Develop and expand the company's manufacturing capabilities and capacities to meet the fast growth of the business.
- Manage plant EHS to meet regulatory requirements and customer expectations, ensuring safe plant operations.
- Establish plant policies and management procedures to meet business needs. Manage day-to-day manufacturing activities, priorities, resources, cost control, and troubleshooting.
- Enhance departmental workflows to optimize equipment utilization and availability continuously.
- Manage budgets, spending, and budgeting variances.
- Take necessary actions to ensure the success of client audits and regulatory inspections and implement measures for continuous improvements. Develop and maintain good relations with local government.
- Support the introduction of new RD products and manage transitions to new scales of commercial operations.
- Foster a highly efficient and motivated team. Motivate and develop team members, build a strong leadership team, and empower team leaders. Establish systems to encourage innovation, collaboration, and customer orientation.
Requirements:
- Candidates should possess a minimum of 10 years of manufacturing experience, preferably in the pharmacetical or biosciences industry, with substantial experience in pharmaceutical manufacturing and a demonstrated dedication to customer satisfaction.
- Demostrated capability to thrive in a dynamic and multifaceted and manufacturing environment with a portfolio of up to 500 product SKUs.
- Demostrated capability in establishing new robust processes and improving legacy systems.
- Proven Technical capability in reviewing, approving and managing multiple high value CAPEX projects simultaneously.
- Experience in handling external regulators including, US-FDA, EMMA and ANVISA
- Candidates who hold a Lean Six Sigma are highly favoured.
- Fluency in mandarin is required to communicate effectively within the plant environment.
