  • Processing Payroll: Your primary duty involves calculating and processing employee salaries, wages, bonuses, and deductions. This may include hourly wages, overtime, commissions, and other forms of compensation.
  • Maintaining Records: You'll need to keep accurate records of employee attendance, hours worked, and leave taken. This information is crucial for calculating salaries and ensuring compliance with labor laws and company policies.
  • Tax Compliance: Payroll officers are responsible for ensuring that all payroll taxes are accurately calculated and withheld. This includes income tax, Social Security contributions, Medicare taxes, and any other relevant deductions.
  • Benefits Administration: Many companies offer employee benefits such as health insurance, retirement plans, and flexible spending accounts. As a payroll officer, you may be responsible for managing the deductions and contributions related to these benefits.
  • Addressing Employee Inquiries: Employees may have questions or concerns regarding their pay, taxes, or benefits. It's your responsibility to address these inquiries promptly and professionally.
  • Generating Reports: You may be required to generate various payroll reports for management, accounting, or regulatory purposes. These reports may include payroll summaries, tax filings, and compliance reports.
  • Ensuring Compliance: Compliance with federal, state, and local labor laws is essential. This includes staying up-to-date with changes in tax regulations, minimum wage laws, and other relevant legislation.
  • Auditing and Reconciliation: Regularly auditing payroll records and reconciling them with financial statements helps identify discrepancies and ensure accuracy.
  • Software Management: You'll need to be proficient in using payroll software and may also be involved in selecting and implementing new systems.

Requirement

  • GCE O Levels or Diploma highly desired
  • Good Payroll Experience in construction industry
  • Excellent communication skills to all levels
