You will support the business in GRC matters for Singapore, Hong Kong, China and Dubai while overseeing a team of 6 specialists. You will plan and execute Hawksford's compliance programs to include monitoring and testing, identifying opportunities for improvement, and communicating value added recommendations to management and staff.

Principal Accountabilities: -

  • Develop and maintain strong knowledge of laws, regulations, and industry best practices in the compliance arena of Singapore, Hong Kong, China and Dubai
  • Facilitate and act as a non-voting chair for the firm’s internal risk committees and policy committees
  • Serve as a resource for Hawksford staff regarding compliance matters
  • Oversee all communications with regulators
  • Lead the response to regulatory examinations, enquiries, and other data requests
  • Work with regulators as part of industry working groups to review and improve compliance standards
  • Cover and participation in regional and global meetings
  • Deliver compliance training to the firm’s staff
  • Fulfil other needs as they arise in Hawksford’s fast-developing environment
  • To carry out Performance & Development Reviews of your team, ensuring the objectives are achieved and that training requirements are identified and implemented
  • Support the expansion for GRC capacity regionally, in anticipation of future acquisitions

The type of person we are looking for:

  • Professional qualification in a relevant field (e.g. Compliance, Risk Management Accounting, Economics, Business Management or Law)
  • In depth knowledge of AML/CFT
  • Previous experience in the financial industry with respect to risk and/or compliance, and proven experience in a senior role.
  • In depth understanding of corporate administration and ideally Private Client Trust /Funds business
  • Good command of written and spoken English
  • A highly disciplined and independent leader with the ability to motivate and engage all levels of staff in the firm
  • Must possess strong line management, coaching and influencing skills
  • Adaptable and decisive, able to focus on priorities at hand
  • Proactive, self-motivated and willing to take responsibility for own work and decision-making
  • Must be organized, detail-oriented and analytical
  • Have a high level of integrity and take ownership and accountability of results
