What you will be working on
- Perform and manage the timely monthly closing activities, ensuring accuracy and integrity of financial reports and providing strategic insights and recommendations to internal and external stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with Statutory Board Financial Reporting Standards
- Lead the implementation of FRS 117 Insurance Contracts.
- Collaborate with cross-functional departments to gather and analyze financial performance, identifying anomalies and risks from the review of financial data.
- Develop and implement effective financial processes and systems to ensure accurate recording of financial transactions in accordance with accounting standards and financial regulations.
- Manage and optimise funds' cash flows, maximizing investment returns while adhering to risk management policies.
- Ability to lead and mentor a team of accounting officers, providing guidance and support to enhance team performance and professional development.
- Act as a liaison with Government Bodies, Statutory Boards, and the President's Office on financial reporting matters, ensuring compliance and timely submissions.
- Undertake ad-hoc tasks and projects to support the overall finance function.
What we are looking for
- Relevant work experience in accounting or audit, preferably with prior working experience or familiarity to the insurance industry.
- Good understanding of Singapore/Statutory Board Financial Reporting Standards, with proficiency in FRS 109 Financial Instruments.
- Strong analytical, interpersonal, and communication skills, with the ability to interpret and convey complex financial information effectively.
- Experience with PowerBI or similar business intelligence tools preferred, with the ability to use data visualisation for enhanced reporting and insights.
- Continuous learning mindset, with a willingness to stay updated on evolving accounting standards, regulations, and industry best practices.
The successful candidate will hold the corporate title of Manager/Senior Manager, with seniority based on individual work experiences.
