1. General
The operations team aims to be a sales enabler– our performance will help Piab to fulfil our full potential as the global leader in gripping and moving solutions. The production engineer is a key player in this through developing, standardizing and maintaining our production engineering concepts to create a scalable, reliable and cost-efficient production. He will plan, implement and oversee all aspects of production operations. This person is reporting directly to Operation Manager.
2. Resposiblities
- Develop production tools, methods and work instructions for new products introduction projects focusing on built in quality control and poka yoke
- Participate in investigating and resolving any issues that arise during production and sales customer complaints. Prepare and submit investigation report to customer when required.
- Lead ECO implementation process, liaise with other departments and suppliers to prepare materials, tools, equipment, packaging, label and software, develop/update Work Instruction, provide training and guidance to production to achieve safe, quality and efficient production process.
- Continuously maintenance, upgrading and troubleshooting of tools, assembly methods and development in production to seek continuous improvement.
- Work with R&D and HQ Engineering to develop and implement production engineering strategy with scalability, cost and quality as the key focus areas.
3. Key Interfaces
- Work closely with HQ Engineering as well as global supply units, external suppliers in developing equipment, fixtures and tools.
- Sales in customers complaint investigation or sample build

5. Authorises
- Approval of design concept and commission production jigs and fixtures, equipments from equipment manufacturer
- Approval of new product introduction or process changes related to NPI/ECO
- Initiate CIR for design or quality improvement
JOB SPECIFICATION
Requirement:
- Diploma/Degree in Electrical, Mechatronic or Mechanical Engineering
- Minimum of 5 years of work experience in production engineering, preferably in a lean manufacturing environment
- Experience from working in a global organization is an advantage
- Knowledgeable in vacuum, pneumatics and mechanics design/fabrication
- Proficient in PDM, PLM and 3D design software
- Singaporean or hold relevant residence status preferred
