Research Assistant in the Laboratory of Assistant Professor Yusuf Ali.
We are seeking a Research Assistant who is passionate about being part of a research team that focuses on unraveling the molecular mechanisms underlying Type 2 diabetes (T2D) pathogenesis and multi-organ dysfunction. The Research Assistant will actively participate in experiments involving molecular techniques such as histology and animal models of disease, while also managing laboratory administrative tasks such as procurement, laboratory safety compliance and inventory management to facilitate smooth laboratory operations.

Key Responsibilities:
Perform molecular biology assays/experiments, including histology, western blotting, confocal microscopy, etc.
Perform in vivo experiments, animal studies
Provide support in data analysis
Contribute to laboratory operations by basic laboratory housekeeping needs, proper functioning of equipment, and adhering to safety protocols
Assist with procurement (purchasing equipment, materials and consumables)
Assist with safety-related duties
Collaborate effectively with the research teams to achieve overall research goals and objectives
Key Competencies:
Bachelor's in biology, Biochemistry, Life Sciences, or related fields. Fresh graduates are welcome to apply
Possess a minimum of 1 year of experience in microbiology and molecular biology research
Experience with animal experiments would be of benefit, but not essential
Able to work independently and as a team player
Able to work overtime and under pressure to meet possible tight datelines
