JEYST Shipping Pte Ltd was incorporated in January 2024 in Singapore. The company is a dry bulk operator that will particularly focus on the Post-Panamax, Panamax, and Ultramax sectors of various dry bulk commodities. We aim to provide flexible and reliable freight services to customers for worldwide trade flows of coal, iron ore and minerals.
We are looking for a Vessel Operations Specialist who will be responsible for operating vessels and providing subject matter expertise for the daily execution of allocated voyage and time-chartered vessels.
Responsibilities:
- Efficiently oversee and monitor day-to-day on-water activities, serving as the primary point of contact for operational issues.
- Strategically plan, oversee, and optimize the operational performance of vessels.
- Develop and disseminate voyage instructions while managing all related formalities.
- Monitor trends in vessel and fleet performance, particularly regarding bunker consumption.
- Collaborate closely with ship's masters to identify and manage potential voyage risks.
- Facilitate and manage interactions with port and agency representatives.
- Effectively communicate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure smooth operations.
- Drive profitability optimization for each voyage in collaboration with the commercial team, with accountability for P&L and variance management.
- Utilize relevant performance tools to monitor, manage, and report fleet efficiency and performance.
- Actively participate in enhancing customer knowledge and relationships.
- Conduct post-voyage analysis and reviews to identify areas for improvement.
- Identify process gaps and propose/implement improvement actions.
Requirements:
- Diploma or Degree in Maritime or other related fields.
- 3 -5 years’ relevant experience in a vessel operations role
- Strong knowledge of charter-party and/or previous working experience in a similar position would be an added advantage.
- Fluent skills in English, other languages such as Mandarin is an added advantage.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in IMOS would be an added advantage.
