Job Description
- Provide legal and administrative support to department
- Assessing infringement reports and its evidence to determine appropriate enforcement action under government legislation (i.e. warnings, composition or court prosecution), including making recommendations for charging decisions
- Assessing appeals and representations from offenders, including making recommendations in response to these appeals and representations;
- Processing the administration of these warnings, composition offers and responses to appeals;
- Conducting mentions and pre-trial conferences at the State Courts, including the administration aspects of court prosecution;
- Handling and monitoring of high volume of infringements, appeals and related queries from members of the public;
- Monitoring and updating on the status of prosecution cases, including hearing dates and court orders; and
- Where necessary, Assisting the team with general knowledge management tasks and other administrative work.
Job Requirements
- Degree holder
- Prior legal experience will be a plus
- A strong interest in legal, maritime and/or court prosecution work
