About Business Leaders Group

Our division engages and collaborates with Prominent Business Leaders (PBLs), Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) and local ‘Young Business Leaders’ (YBLs) in Business China’s network. We also organise the annual ‘Advanced Leaders Programme’ (ALP) which is an apex programme targeting the next generation of business leaders and senior public officers.


This role brings opportunities to engage with a diverse set of exceptionally talented leaders across various industries, from financial, investment, supply chain to cutting-edge technology like AI and biotech, etc. You will be involved in planning and organising a variety of engagement activities, especially fundraising for Business China.


Job Duties & Responsibilities

  1. Manages Business Leaders Group’s efforts in identifying, building, and maintaining relationships with Prominent Business Leaders (PBLs), key opinion leaders (KOLs) and local Youth Business Leaders (YBLs) with significant economic interests in both China and Singapore, and other countries.
  2. Develop strategies to support and strengthen ties between Singapore and Chinese business community by facilitating engagements and fostering deeper links between the groups.
  3. Develop and execute strategies for fund raising amongst the Business China’s networks.
  4. Lead, research, and manage the curation of BLG’s regular programme series, from conceptualization to execution. This involves scoping themes, managing speakers, and overseeing event logistics, with the ability to host event when necessary.
  5. Support the planning and execution of Business China’s Advanced Leaders Programme (ALP) and ALP Alumni Programmes, including marketing and recruitment efforts, identifying potential participants and mentors, coordinating programmes, and overseeing administrative and logistical matters related to the execution of the programmes for Singapore and overseas components.
  6. Support the production of related media content such as invitations, re-publicity materials, social media posts event reports and thank you notes etc, proficiently written in both English and/or Mandarin.
  7. Any other duties, tasks or responsibilities designated by the Deputy Director, contributing flexibly to the team objectives.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  1. Effectively bilingual in English and Mandarin – written and verbal communication skills.
  2. Bachelor’s Degree or Higher Degree in Business, Marketing, Chinese Studies, Social Science, Public Relations, Journalism, International Relations, or other relevant disciplines.
  3. Demonstrated knowledge and interest in China and Singapore’s development.
  4. Prior international experience preferred (especially in the Greater China region). At least 3-5 years of relevant working experience and at least 2 years of working experience in fund raising and relationship management.
  5. This is an individual contributor role although you may potentially lead project teams.
  6. Being a self-starter is essential, especially in the areas of stakeholder/partner engagement and management.
