Job description
This role resides in the Group Centre of Excellence. Reporting to the Department Head for Gas Assets.
As the Assets Performance, Improvement and Optimisation Manager, your Primary Role will be responsible for monitoring performance and driving improvement programs of Sembcorp’s Gas Power Plant Assets. You will work with other members within the Department to plan and execute assets monitoring programs, performance analysis and reporting procedures, and performance improvement initiatives.
Responsibilities include:
Leadership
- Coach and support Assets Performance Engineers in Markets assets reliability and performance related matters.
- Technical mentorship to engineers to improve overall technical competency
- Support Markets on Assets Performance technical competency improvement trainings.
Governance
- Monitor and Steward Assets Performance and recommending improvement measures for allocated Markets which operates the Gas Power Plant Assets.
- Implement and Drive Assets’ Key Performance Indicators (KPI) and Performance Improvement initiatives across Markets.
- Implement and Drive Assets Performance and KPI Benchmarks (International, Technology-based) across Markets.
- Support in development of Standardization of Assets Performance Data Monitoring Platform across all Sembcorp Assets.
- Support in implementing policies, standards and guideline in Markets. Guide and Coach Markets personnel in intention to establish understanding of governance structures.
Support Markets
- Support Markets in identifying production losses, analyzing the root cause(s) and proposing improvements to the assets with objectives of improving asset reliability and financial performance.
- Analyze and translate Markets’ Assets Performance data and trending to proactive identify issues to trigger preventive maintenance and optimize assets performance.
- Support Markets in Assets Performance Improvement by leading initiatives using Industry/Sembcorp Markets’ Best Practices.
- Collaborate with Markets and Corporate Cross functional teams to establish these Assets Performance Improvements Initiatives.
- Explore and evaluate New Energy Technologies to develop creative low-carbon energy solutions that could be new businesses for the Sembcorp Group.
Requirements and attributes:
- Highly proficient in written and spoken English; ability to articulate complicated matters clearly and concisely is key for the role.
- Ability to collect, organise and analyze data independently, to create useful information for reporting and decision making is key for the role.
- Candidates with demonstrated leadership, strong teamworking ability and good communication skills will be key requirement.
- At least 5 years’ experience in either design/project management/O&M in Thermal Energy/Utilities/Petrochemical and Power generation business.
- Experience in Gas Power Plant operations, performance/improvement will be viewed favourably.
- Minimum University degree in Chemical/Electrical/Mechanical or other relevant engineering disciplines.
- Proactive and resourceful, with strong problem solving and execution capability.
- Ability to adapt and learn quickly.
- Willingness to travel occasionally.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Powerpoint); Data Visualisation tools a plus
