(A) Job Summary:
The Specialist for Underground Construction produces work plan and supervises the underground construction works including structure work in tunnels to deliver the product to the requirement of the project. He/she must be knowledgeable about innovative construction techniques, coordination with other contractors and safety issues. He/she is expected to work well with the teammates to achieve the shared goals. Working in shifts will be required.
(B) Essential Job Functions:
The Specialist for Underground Construction is responsible for, but not limited to, the following:
- Provide planning of underground construction in locations with limited access, from safety, quality and productivity viewpoint.
- Provide engineering supervision to underground construction works.
- Ensure the work is done in compliant with the protocol established for the project.
- Coordinate with project stakeholders.
(C) Minimum Qualifications/ Job Experience:
- Recognized bachelor’s degree in engineering.
- Underground construction work experience.
- Experience in construction work in locations with limited access.
- Experience in construction work using innovative technologies.
- Experience in airport project.
(D) Personality:
- Strong organizational, interpersonal and leadership skills.
- Ability to influence various stakeholders and build long term relationships.
- Ability to lead Construction staff and to provide supervision to the staff.
(E) Knowledge/ Skills/ Abilities:
- Good knowledge of engineering standards.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Good knowledge of safety management.
- Good computer skill to fulfil the job functions.
- Ability to analyse and synthesize complex issues quickly.
- Ability to work well under pressure.
