Responsibilities
- Configure physical network devices during capacity expansions.
- Establish automated monitoring for physical network devices and implement alerting systems based on monitoring data.
- Develop automation scripts to safely update device configurations.
- Raise tickets for various Data Centre operations tasks, such as cable checks, replacements, and decommissions.
- Conduct firmware updates and manage logical access security for network devices.
- Promptly respond to live site incidents involving network devices and provide audit evidence for logical security.
Requirements
- Possess a minimum of 3 years of Networking Engineering experience, focusing on Layer 2 and Layer 3 protocols, including IP and routing protocols like OSPF/IS-IS, BGP, and MPLS.
- Proficient in troubleshooting across multiple networking platforms, such as Cisco, Dell, Palo Alto, Fortigate, and Arista.
- Strong scripting skills in Python, PowerShell, and C# (preferred but not mandatory) for task automation.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Effective collaboration and adaptability, as the role may encompass various traditional roles like design engineer, deployment engineer, operations engineer, and project manager.
