To support and drive the execution of the Sembcorp Industries’ M&A transactions across key focus markets in Asia, Middle East and globally in the power, renewables and urban infrastructure segments.
This is a key role to lead and manage the end-to-end investment process from origination to transaction execution of the Group’s investments and capital recycling initiatives.
The position sits within Group Investment Management which reports to the Group Chief Financial Officer, and plays an important role in supporting the Group’s energy transition and transformation targets.
Key Roles & Responsibilities
- Source, identify and execute potential investment and capital recycling opportunities in accordance with the company’s mandate to meet business performance objectives.
- Structure, assess and negotiate transactions including leading and supervising deal process due diligence, financial modelling and valuation, deal analytics, financing and transaction documentation.
- Conduct comprehensive financial analysis, including financial modelling, scenario analysis and synergy assessments to evaluate potential transactions and investment opportunities as well as preparation and review of presentation and materials used for engaging internal and external stakeholders.
- Develop and maintain relationships with key external partners including banks, financiers, legal advisors and other stakeholders.
- Collaborate closely with cross functional teams across the Group, including Markets/Commercial, Legal, Finance, and Tax, to ensure alignment with strategic objectives and seamless execution
- As a senior member of the team, to supervise, guide, mentor and develop the competency of junior team members within Group Investment Management
Qualifications and Experience
- Degree in Accounting / Finance / Business Administration / Economics / Engineering
- 10+ years of relevant experience in investment management, investment banking, corporate development, in-house M&A role or transaction advisory with a proven track record of executing M&A transactions
- Experience in the power, utilities, renewables and infrastructure industry and familiarity with the broader energy industry preferred
