Web / Mobile Developer (OutSystems)

The Digital Lab is a team of skilled software developers that works with a standard set of tools and technology platforms to deliver bespoke digital solutions for all Business Groups, spanning from Australian Properties, Central Support Services, Corporate Real Estate, F&B, Hospitality, Property Sales to Retail in both Singapore and the region. Area of focus includes developing solutions related to customer engagement/service portals, workflow automation, digital marketing and data analytics.

The Web / Mobile Developer will join us in driving digital transformation by participating in the design and development of innovative web and mobile applications. The candidate shall report to the Application Development Manager of Digital Lab or any other person designated by the Head of Department of Group IT.

Responsibilities:

Planning and Collaboration

1. Participate in the discovery, conceptualization, process re-engineering, articulation, and implementation of scalable software developments;
2. Work closely with the application development manager, project manager, solution architect, application support team and third-party technology partners to ensure that the developed solutions fulfill business requirements.

Solution, Development and Operation

1. Translate functional requirements into technical specifications;
2. Clearly articulate options and solutions; communicate pros and cons and participate in the decision-making process related to the solution architecture;
3. Focus on code quality and reusability; follow and contribute to the development of best practices and standards;
4. Develop prototypes, minimum viable products and full-fledged operational solutions.
5. Design, develop and enhance web and/or mobile applications using OutSystems low-code development platform.
6. Work closely with internal IT staff and/or outsource IT providers to ensure delivery of services, solutions and resolutions of incidents problem within the agreed timelines;
7. Develop release notes and implementation procedures;
8. Support the configuration of productivity tools and development environments;
9. Oversee overall support and maintenance services of applications developed;
10. Support in planning of test, training and deployment of programs;
11. Employ the appropriate tool sets to enhance third party applications and develop reports, workflows, forms and/or new small applications;

Requirements:

1. Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems or other related disciplines.
2. At least 2 years of experience as a software developer or development lead, having completed at least 1 full software development lifecycle for a non-trivial web or mobile application.
3. At least 6 months of OutSystems development experience is required.
4. Experience in Web development using .Net or J2EE.
5. Mobile app development using native development tools, e.g. Swift, Objective-C, Android SDK.
6. Strong knowledge in working with Web services and API technologies (RESTful and SOAP) connecting to payment gateway, social media, email, ecommerce.
7. Good understanding of data models and RDMS.
8. Experience working with Agile Methodologies and Scrum.
9. Excellent troubleshooting abilities.
10. Strong analytical, problem solving and decision-making skills
11. Strong focus on business outcomes.
12. Good written and oral communication skills.
