Overview
The APAC Regional Environmental, Health and Safety Manager reports directly to Bio-Rad’s Global EHS Director and will be responsible for implementing and monitoring Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) programs and policies across all locations in Bio-Rad’s APAC region. This position will manage compliance with all Bio-Rad’s EHS policies and standards and all local EHS regulations for each location within the region. The APAC Regional EHS Manager will have overall management responsibility for the region’s sites, the EHS Managers, and staff in the region. The individual will be the subject matter expert for all APAC regional EHS matters, and will act as an advisor to the regional site management teams to ensure compliance with all local EHS regulatory requirements and Bio-Rad corporate EHS standards, and to identify and close out any identified non-conformance issues.
How You’ll Make an Impact:
- Implements Bio-Rad’s EHS standards, provides technical assistance on EHS issues, and partners with the business on compliance, project management, and EHS management issues at Bio-Rad APAC locations
- Ensures Bio-Rad’s APAC regional EHS compliance material and logs (e.g. permits, fees, training records, written procedures are maintained for each location
- Provides expertise in all key health and safety programs across the region
- Collaborates with site manufacturing and EHS leadership to lead the development, implementation, and achievement of goals within the APAC Region
- Develops predictive risk analysis program to identify critical EHS risks and provide preventive actions to mitigate potential risks
- Deploys safety, industrial hygiene, and environmental processes which demonstrate continuous improvement in EHS processes and programs
- Conducts technical research to assess and mitigate risk to chemical exposure, noise exposure, air quality issues, ergonomics, radiation and other potential exposure risk issues
- Establishes guidelines and investigative protocols surrounding EHS incidents that address reporting criteria, causation, accountability, remedial actions and incident tracking and closure of corrective actions
- Leads the development of an extended contractor support organization that delivers EHS excellence and compliance programs and standards across all APAC locations
- Partners with the Corporate Global EHS team to mobilize technical experts and other resources within and outside the region to support achievement of the company's EHS strategy and site-specific goals
- Participates in the development of the company's Global EHS Strategy
What You Bring:
- Bachelor or Master level Degree or Diploma in Environmental Science, Occupational Health and Safety or equivalent
- Minimum 10 years of experience in managing EHS across multiple countries in the APAC region including China, Japan, Korea, Singapore, India, Australia, New Zealand, etc
- Good analytical, problem solving and troubleshooting skills
- Ability to communicate, present and influence internal and external stakeholders
- Proven ability to drive process improvements, adhere to budgets, and maintain regulatory compliance
