The ideal candidate manages allocated vessels by profitably scheduling cargoes, cargo commitments or vessels to ensure least cost shipping, operating profits and/or maximum vessel utilization for various cargo type or fleet. Ensures safe and efficient commercial and operational management for WCS fleet.
Responsibilities:
1. Commercial strategy, developing and managing freight trading strategy or fleet commercial activities to maximise earnings.
2. Identify and react to market trading conditions, recommending new market development opportunities and advising on risk management.
3. Collect and evaluate cargo requirements and confirm criteria for selecting shippers
4. Identify potential shippers who are capable to transport cargo.
5. Draft Contract of Affreightments (COA) between parties.
6. Communicate terms and agreements for proposed charters.
7. Responsible and manages the WCS fleet in China
8. Relationship management with stakeholders and Chinese clients
9. Monitor performance of vessels relative to c/p requirements on TC or voyage basis incl. speed and consumption. Identify any underperformance in a timely manner.
10. Take action to remedy any underperformance, and continuously seeks opportunities to improve performance and efficiencies.
11. Mitigate potential issues with difficult cargoes, ports or trading areas
12. Plan and execute procedures for bunkering, issuing of cargo / customs / freight documents, stowage plans, invoicing etc.
13. Liaise within Wallem Group and other business divisions to create synergies and project opportunities.
Qualification and Experience:
· University Degree in Maritime or related discipline
· Master Mariner and sailing experience in Tankers / Dry Cargo vessels or Chief Engineer sailing on PCTC/RORO
· Minimum 3 years of experience in commercial operations and/or Chartering
. Candidate must be willing to travel to different parts of China frequently and on short notice.
