Job Description

We are looking for a capable and motivated Research Fellow to join our research on integrated quantum and nonlinear photonics. The project aims to develop an integrated quantum photonic platform based on thin-film lithium niobate. Main device components to be developed include on-chip photon-pair and squeezed-light sources, electro-optic modulators, frequency combs, and integrated single-photon detectors. The candidate will also have the freedom to explore other topics such as piezo-optomechanics and microwave-optical transduction.


This position will be hosted by Assistant Professor Di ZHU’s group in the Department of Materials Science and Engineering at the National University of Singapore (NUS). Successful candidates will be involved in, but not limited to, the following activities:
• Design and fabricate integrated photonic devices
• Perform optical and electrical characterization of integrated photonic devices
• Assist in mentoring graduate students
• Regularly disseminate research results through reports, presentations, and manuscripts

Qualifications

• Ph.D. degree (completed or soon to be completed) in Physics, Applied Physics, Material Science and Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or other relevant areas
• Knowledge in nonlinear and/or quantum photonics
• Experience in nano/micro-fabrication is highly desired
• Programming skills (e.g., Python, Matlab)
• Ability to work as a team and communicate effectively
