Day-to-day responsibilities:
- Bake cakes and pastries (including, in particular, buttercream cakes) without supervision.
- Production (including frosting and stacking) of cakes.
- Decorate customised cakes in accordance with customers' requests and Head Pastry Chef's instructions.
- Mould fondant decorations in accordance with customers' orders, independently and efficiently.
- Baking and preparation of other pastries, such as cupcakes and tarts.
- Maintain cleanliness of cake decoration studio.
- From time to time, you will have the opportunity to assist our Head Pastry Chef in creating cake designs from scratch!
Our ideal candidate:
- At least 1 to 2 years experience with cake preparations, baking, and frosting.
- At least 1 to 2 years experience decorating customised cakes, including handling of fondant.
- Responsible and able to work independently, with a keen awareness of timelines.
- Friendly and a good team player.
- It is perfectly fine if your experience is home-based!
- Advantageous but not a must: Diploma or degree in Culinary Arts or Baking and Pastry Arts / management experience in a kitchen or bakery setting.
