Work closely with other trainers and Centre Administrator in the following areas
- To engage, teach, train, supervise, maintain and develop the functioning level of individual trainee to function adequately and independently in the following areas:
- Vocational and work readiness skills
- Social skills and Behavioral Skills Training
- Community living and Independent living skills
- To engage in continous assessment, training, and evaluation of individual trainees’ holistic development.
- To plan and execute meaningful group activities (indoor/outdoor).
- To monitor trainees’ security and safety procedures at all time.
- To communicate critical information to Senior Trainer and Centre Administrator.
- To update trainee’s daily attendance and participation in activities, events and programmes in trainees’ daily logbook.
- To engage in caregiver dialogue sessions, home visits and maintain good rapport and communication with parents / caregivers.
- To attend staff meetings and trainings as required.
- To oversee at least one (within a year) of the following duties and will provide assistance to the other staff when required:
- Organise internal/external events and activities for trainees;
- Support volunteer engagement events;
- Support public education activities (e.g. outreach);
- Support CWS events at organisation level.
SKILLS REQUIREMENT
- Computer literacy skills in MS Office (Words, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Good interpersonal and communication skills.
- With great deal of patience and passion to work with people with intellectual challenges, autism, OCD, developmental delayed, down syndrome.
QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE
- Min. O Level, or NITEC Certificate in Community Care & Social Services (ITE) or Certificate in Special Education, Social Services, Community Services, Disability Studies, Counselling.
- Other SSI (Social Service Institute) certifications in disabilities studies such as autism, intellectual disabilities, mental healths, etc
- Certified First-Aider.
YEARS OF RELEVANT WORK EXPERIENCE(S) REQUIRED
- At least 3 years of working / hand-on experience in sheltered workshop or Day Activities Centre, or SPED (SPecial EDucation) school.
