As an Associate Aviation Finance, you will have a key role in promoting and expanding our Aviation Finance (AF) business in the Asia Pacific region, excluding Japan. You will also be responsible for supporting the AF team in operational, research, and auxiliary functions.
Job Responsibilities include:
Strategic Initiatives:
- Assist the AF team with deal origination and execution, cooperating closely with the relevant MUFG branches and divisions.
- Prepare and update internal reports related to AF transactions.
- Conduct borrower ratings and credit analysis for existing or potential clients.
- Source and share market information on AF’s clients, investors, financial partners, and other market participants with GAFO.
Financial Tasks:
- Support the AF team in deal origination and execution, working closely with respective MUFG branches and other divisions to achieve team profit targets and meet key performance indicators.
Customer Engagement:
- Develop and maintain relationships with existing and potential AF clients with a view towards originating mandates to lead debt issuance. This includes arrangements with clients for various financing methods such as warehouse financings, portfolio financings, PDP financing, ABS-type transactions, JOLCO financing, and airline structured bonds (EETC private/public).
Team Engagement:
- Provide guidance and transfer knowledge to junior team members.
- Collaborate with various departments and work with GAFO as a cohesive global aviation team.
Risk & Control:
- Ensure transactions risk profile align with the Bank's risk criteria and provide analysis and assessment of transactional risks, obtaining necessary credit approvals.
- Monitor and ensure credit compliance for executed transactions not yet transferred to SFD-AF-PM.
- Adhere to pertinent MAS regulations and MUFG group policies.
Job Requirements:
- Minimum Degree holder
- Min 2 years of experience within the banking industry, accounting, consultancy firms, or a similar sector.
- Experience with banking processes
- Good knowledge of legal principles, particularly those pertaining to the documentation of aircraft finance transactions.
- Good analytical and credit skills, including the ability to perform detailed financial analysis.
- Strong business acumen with a keen sense of identifying deal-closing opportunities.
- Proficiency in written and spoken English is required to communicate effectively with colleagues and clients to coordinate processes, as English is the primary means of communicating instructions.
