This is a permanent full-time position.
Reporting Structure
You will:
- Report directly to the Vice President, Global Partnerships, Asia Pacific
- You will be working closely with the Oceania National Sales Director (based in Australia) along with the Global Partnership Directors in other regions.
- You will also be working alongside the IRONMAN Marketing, Operations, Legal, Finance and Athlete Services teams.
Base of Operation
- Located at IRONMAN Singapore Office, or other Asian location as mutually agreed but may be required from time to time to work from different locations.
Scope of Assignment
IRONMAN develops, owns and manages mass participation endurance sporting events throughout the World.
The Director – Global Partnerships, Asia will be responsible for developing strategies, planning and implementation along with managing the majority of the Asia Sales and driving the sales of commercial programs across the world with a key focus on businesses in Asia. The programs will include Global Partnerships, Event Sponsorship, VIK (Value in Kind) opportunities and other activities that increase the profitability of all IRONMAN events. This is a dynamic and unique opportunity to join an ever-evolving business.
Key responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to;
- Work with the Vice President, Global Partnership, Asia Pacific in setting budgets, sales targets and overall commercial strategy for the region - Asia
- Manage the driving of sales opportunities from prospect all the way through until transaction.
- Creating strategies to obtain new clients while generating revenue opportunities.
- Liaison with multiple departments (predominantly Marketing & Operations), ensuring expectations are managed on all aspects of execution of sponsorship programs.
- Developing and assisting with the improvement of 'best practice' across sales presentations and pitches (which requires understanding and implementation of compelling, factual, tailored documents and multimedia presentations)
- Taking a lead role in the ongoing sales direction, strategy and focus for individual Event business units as directed.
- Developing a meaningful presence and understanding of the corporate market & sponsorship landscape and spend particularly across Asia.
- Work closely with the Partner Services team to deliver world class outcomes for our broad partner family across the portfolio.
Skills & Experience Required
As our preferred candidate, you will have:
Sales and relationship experience
- Significant experience in sales/business development (minimum five years) including experience in sales strategy, implementation, and success in closing deals.
- Demonstrated ability to sell to and exceed set financial targets.
- Experience working & engaging in sponsorship across a broad cross section of organisations.
- Experience in managing multi layered stakeholders with significant relationship management.
- Existing network of prospective commercial partners in Asia.
