Job Description:
- Coordinate the movement of marine vessels, including scheduling arrivals and departures, optimizing routes, and ensuring efficient use of resources.
- Implement and enforce safety procedures and protocols to ensure the safety of personnel, vessels, and cargo during marine operations. Conduct safety briefings and drills as required.
- Monitor weather forecasts and sea conditions to assess potential risks and make informed decisions regarding vessel operations, route planning, and scheduling.
- Maintain effective communication with vessel crews, port authorities, terminal operators, and other stakeholders to coordinate operations, relay instructions, and address operational issues in a timely manner.
- Ensure compliance with maritime regulations, international conventions, and company policies governing vessel operations, safety standards, and environmental protection.
- Respond promptly to emergencies, incidents, and accidents involving marine vessels, coordinating with relevant authorities and implementing emergency response procedures to mitigate risks and ensure the safety of personnel and assets.
- Monitor the performance of marine vessels, including fuel consumption, speed, and efficiency, and identify opportunities for optimization and improvement.
- Maintain accurate records of vessel movements, cargo operations, fuel consumption, and other relevant data to support reporting, analysis, and compliance requirements.
- Conduct risk assessments for marine operations, identifying potential hazards and implementing risk mitigation measures to minimize operational disruptions and ensure the safety of personnel and assets.
- Provide training and guidance to vessel crews and operational staff on safe operating practices, emergency procedures, and regulatory requirements to enhance their skills and knowledge.
Requirement:
- Good Interpersonal Skills and ability to communicate effectively at all levels of management.
- Possess good negotiation skills, leadership and management skills
- Strong Problem-solving and Analytical Skills and are able to work in a stress environment.
- Able to accept responsibility and be accountable for the result, regardless of good or bad
- Detailed knowledge of the management and operation of marine vessels
- Must be competent with ship management( Navigation, information sharing)
- Candidate must possess at least a Degree in Marine related fields.
- At Least 5 years of experience in marine/shipping industry in Singapore.
- Able to travel overseas.
- Able to start work immediately or within short notice
