Job Responsibilities:
· Collaborative Planning: Collaborate closely with the research team to understand the objectives and requirements of the collaboration with ORA. Develop a comprehensive plan for setting up necessary arrangements and protocols, ensuring alignment with research goals and regulatory standards.
· Protocol Development: Lead the development and refinement of protocols and methodologies for pre-clinical translational research, utilizing expertise in Vision Science and ocular model research. Ensure protocols are robust, reproducible, and compliant with industry standards.
· Project Management: Oversee all aspects of project execution, including timeline management, resource allocation, and coordination of activities between internal teams and external partners. Identify and mitigate risks to ensure successful project delivery.
· Regulatory Compliance: Collaborate with regulatory affairs teams to ensure adherence to relevant regulations and guidelines governing pre-clinical research. Facilitate necessary IACUC approvals, including protocol submission, follow-ups, post-monitoring, and documentation to maintain compliance throughout the collaboration.
· Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate closely with the Business Development team and serve as a primary point of contact for stakeholders involved in the collaboration, including researchers, clinicians, and industry partners. Foster strong relationships and facilitate effective communication to drive collaboration objectives forward.
· Budget Management: Collaborate closely with administrative and finance teams to develop and manage budgets for the collaboration, ensuring efficient utilization of resources and alignment with project goals. Monitor financial performance and report on variances as needed.
· Mentorship and Leadership: Provide mentorship and guidance to junior team members involved in the collaboration. Foster a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous learning within the team.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- PhD in Vision Science or related field, with extensive experience in ocular model research.
- Minimum of 10 to 12 years’ relevant experienc
- Candidates should have at least 4 years of supervisory experience.
· Proven track record of managing complex research projects, preferably in a translational or pre-clinical setting.
· Strong understanding of regulatory requirements and compliance standards in pre-clinical research.
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
· Demonstrated leadership abilities, including mentorship and team management experience.
· Experience in budgeting and financial management.
· Knowledge of research commercialization processes and strategies are desirable.
