Job Description:
- Assist in School-Wide Operation of Audio-Visual Facilities
- Provide AV technical support to staff to facilitate the delivery of lessons, CCA, exams, meetings and at school events and functions
- Set-up AV facilities in rooms and venues for lectures, exams, school events and functions
- Set-up and perform live streaming and video-conferencing
- Plan and implement sound integrative AV operating procedures in the school
- Provide technical advice in terms of AV equipment and related software that the school can purchase to support teaching and learning, exams, events and functions
- Work closely with ICT team (e.g. ICT Associate, Desktop Engineers) on AV requirements and support required by staff, student, AVA Club (CCA)
- Provide training for staff and students on the use of AV facilities
Maintenance and Management of AV Equipment and Inventory
- Perform servicing and repair for AV equipment
- Maintain usage and service records of AV equipment, and replacement of AV equipment in rooms and venues (e.g. auditorium and halls)
- Manage loans of AV equipment via school standardised loan procedures
- Perform asset checks of AV equipment
- Work closely with HOD ICT and ICT Associate in sourcing for procurements, monitoring expenses and budget for costs incurred as part of maintenance and/or replacements
Other Duties
- Project management of commissioned school works on AV facilities, including planning, liaising and coordination between various stakeholders (e.g. vendors, school users etc.)
- Other duties pertaining to the area of AV (e.g. trouble-shooting of PA system) when assigned by School Leaders, HOD/ICT, ICT Associate and AVA Club teacher-in-charge
Working Arrangement:
Contract Period: From 1 st July 2024 to 30 th June 2025 – 12 months
Personnel to be deployed at the following hours:
• Mondays to Thursdays: 7:30am to 5:00pm, inclusive of 1 hour lunch break
• Fridays: 7.30am to 4:30pm, inclusive of 1 hour lunch break
• Services are not required on Saturdays, Sundays and gazetted public holidays, except for specific duties beyond stipulated work hours. (Note: the AV Executive is expected to support the school in terms of school events that may take place beyond the school operating hours of weekdays, 7.00am – 7.00pm timeframe, e.g. on weekends or in the evenings. Time-off will be given if work is performed as required.)
Job Requirements:
- Qualifications
- Minimum requirement of Diploma or equivalent relevant qualification Skills
- Have knowledge and be able to troubleshoot and provide advice for the following AV systems in school:
- Various types of AV equipment e.g. visualisers, projectors, speakers, control panels, switchers, mixers
- AV systems in special rooms (e.g. auditorium) inclusive of sound control panels, microphone set ups, matrix system
- Preferably have experience in live-streaming, video conferencing or equivalent in a school environment
- Preferably be IT-savvy and possess good computer skills in order to seamlessly integrate audio-visual usage with school needs
Experience
- At least 2 years of working experience as an AV Executive or equivalent in schools
- Preferably have working experience in managing AV at events, functions and projects in school.
- Preferably have working experience in managing assets, maintenance and replacements in school.
- Preferably have working experience in providing training to staff and/or students on the use of AV equipment in school.
- Preferably has working experience in handling AV/ICT equipment in the school environment
Qualities
- Team-player and able to work with all levels of school staff (job scope includes supporting teachers in their work, e.g. setting up of visualisers, projectors, PA systems, live-streaming etc.)
- Possess a positive attitude and pleasant disposition
- Should be diligent and a fast learner, able to work independently with clear and minimal instructions
