Network Resident Engineer Role& Responsibilities
• Work as the networking subject matter expert (SME) and station at customer site.
• Provide day to day support to customer’s network setup.
• Act as the networking escalation point and help the deployment team members troubleshoot when necessary.
• Provide documentation of the network project.
• Provide knowledge transfer to customer IT staff after completing network deployment.
• Have good understanding of layer-2 switching, including different flavors of spanning tree protocols, stacking, virtual chassis, LACP and static port-channel.
• Understand and be able to configure routing protocols such as OSPF and BGP. Required Experience
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or 5 years equivalent experience is required.
• Minimum 5 years of experience on network design and implementation.
• CCNP or equivalent level of certification is preferred.
• Hands-on experience of configuration and troubleshooting with layer-2 network protocols such as spanning-tree and LACP is required.
• Hands-on experience of configuration and troubleshooting with layer-3 network protocols such as static routing, OSPF and BGP is required.
• Hands-on experience with network switches and routers is required.
• Understanding and hands-on experience with Sonic OS is preferred.
• Ability to manage multiple, often competing, priorities and tasks and follow through to completion on strict deadlines.
• Ability to effectively communicate technical information, both verbal and written, to a wide range of end-users, including non-technical users.
• Friendly presence and helpful attitude; good interpersonal skills.
