Depending upon the level of competency and prior experience, incumbent shall be guided through The Sciente Way to deliver the services in the following major areas:
- Manage full set of accounts for a Singapore and a Malaysia entity;
- Take ownership for daily accounting and finance duties including receivable and payable processes, general ledger, tax and bank reconciliation, etc.;
- Ensure the compliance to Accounting best practices, year-end closing and support the end-of-year audit processes
- Manage end-to-end process of Scope of Work (SOW) for services offered to clients and issuance of invoices accordingly;
- Manage the monthly processing and checking of payroll and reimbursement for external associates within the stipulated timeline;
- Preparation of Accounts Receivable ageing report and follow up with customers on outstanding payments using a weekly report (Invoice Overdue Report);
- Maintain proper filing and documentation of records including invoices, agreements, payment vouchers, statutory documents, etc;
- Maintain the fixed assets register and journal entry (i.e. Maintain fixed assets records, depreciation entry, fixed assets tagging, etc);
- Assist Head of Accounts in meeting the stipulated deadlines for various transactions such as GST returns, IR8A, IR21, tax returns, etc;
- Participate in Payroll projects including implementation/replacing of system;
- Assist in auditing the accuracy, completeness of the documents and records (ie. SOW, Invoices, payroll information, contract, etc).
Qualifications and Experience :
- At least a Diploma/ Degree in Accounting, Finance or equivalent;
- At least 6 years of relevant work experience related to activities for full set of accounts is mandatory;
- Prior hands-on experience with accounting software, preferably Tally;
- Excellent communication (verbal/written) skills in Malay (Bahasa Melayu) and English are very much required because this role requires communication with Malaysia government agencies;
- Confidence in communication with clients and external stakeholders on a regular basis;
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications such as Word/ Excel;
- Experienced in high volume invoice management, hands-on with Singapore payroll, expense claims etc., AR/AP operations and in submitting GST returns, IR8A, IR21 etc.
