ScaleUp Bio is seeking highly skilled Laboratory Analyst to join our team. The Technical Scientists will be responsible for working with fermentation scientists in developing optimized culture conditions for newly developed or existing production strains from our customers, the successful candidate will perform a variety of tasks related to fermentation technology. These can include strain propagation, bench top and pilot scale fermentations, operation of laboratory equipment/ instrumentation, media preparation, sample collection and analysis, as well as the analysis on the quality equipment such as HPLC, spectrophotometer, biochemistry analyser etc.The successful candidate will cover both of our facilities at our main site in Tuas (Singapore) and supporting Biopolis (Singapore) site, and will be reporting to the QA/QC Manager. The candidate will also be expected to support night shift from time to time depending on the project’s requirement. This is a 6-month contract role with possible extension.
Responsibilities
- Conducting HPLC (High-Performance Liquid Chromatography) analysis for in-process and productions samples.
- Conducting biochemical assays such as Enzymatic assays, protein quantification assays etc.
- Responsible for other analytical lab duties;
- Routine microbiological testing and cell counting of process samples;
- Microbial contamination testing of process and final product samples;
- Developing laboratory procedures and protocols for various analytical and microbiological tests;
- Cross-functionally collaborate with other quality team members, engineers and management professionals internal and external to ScaleUp Bio;
- Work with multi-disciplinary teams to ensure the progress timeline in new product/process development;
- Ensure safe working practice in laboratory to meet or exceed safety goals.
- Any other tasks related to quality team, as assigned by QA Manager.
Profile
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Biotechnology, Microbiology, Biochemistry, or a related field with minimum 3 years experience.
- Industrial experience would be a plus, e.g. food, fermentation.
- Proficient in both spoken and written English for effective communication.
- Strong communication and organization skills, be able to multi-task and exhibit a strong sense of urgency in order to accomplish daily tasks.
- Be self-motivated with the ability to manage time and priorities; must be able to work independently in a team environment, maintain a positive attitude
