Job Description & Requirements
As the Construction BIM Manager, you will be responsible for leading the implementation of Building Information Modeling (BIM) processes and technology on our construction project. You will oversee the development and management of BIM models for Civil, Structural, Architectural (CSA) elements, as well as Extra Low Voltage (ELV) systems, ensuring accuracy, coordination, and compliance with project requirements.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the implementation of BIM processes and technology on the construction project, including establishing standards, workflows, and best practices.
- Collaborate with project stakeholders to develop BIM Execution Plans (BEPs) and coordinate BIM requirements with project specifications.
- Manage the creation and maintenance of BIM models for CSA elements (e.g., foundations, structural framing, architectural finishes) and ELV systems (e.g., telecommunications, security, audiovisual).
- Ensure the accuracy, completeness, and coordination of BIM models with other project disciplines (e.g., MEP, civil) to minimize clashes and conflicts.
- Conduct clash detection and resolution meetings to identify and resolve coordination issues between different building systems.
- Coordinate with subcontractors and vendors to integrate their models into the overall project BIM environment.
- Provide BIM training and support to project team members and subcontractors as needed.
- Assist with the use of BIM data for quantity takeoffs, cost estimation, and construction planning.
- Monitor and report on the progress and quality of BIM deliverables throughout the project lifecycle.
- Stay current with industry trends and advancements in BIM technology and methodologies.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in construction management or related role, with a focus on BIM implementation and coordination.
- Proficiency in BIM software such as Autodesk Revit, Navisworks, or Bentley MicroStation.
- Strong technical knowledge of CSA elements and ELV systems, including design principles and construction methods.
- Experience with clash detection and resolution workflows.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment and manage multiple priorities.
- BIM certification or training (e.g., Autodesk Certified Professional) is a plus.
