Our client is a leading materials testing laboratories and solutions provider for a wide range of fields including construction, life sciences, environmental, energy, transportation etc. They’re now on a look out for a Department Manager (Certification) to join their dynamic team during an exciting time in their development.
about the job
- Responsible for the department's safety performance and awareness; spearheads and manages initiatives that drive a culture of safety first
- Helps lead the efficient operation and growth of the assigned department
- Experienced as a lead auditor and fulfill the criteria for following certification scheme: SS EN 206 Ready-mix concrete, SS EN 1090 Structural Steelworks Fabricators and EN13369 Precast Concrete Products)
- Plan, assign and schedule work, assists with projects, works to assure quality, timeliness, consistency and accuracy of test reports
- Responsible for promoting and ensuring the quality assurance and safety program initiatives are executed upon
- Responsible for staff decisions including hiring, performance management, performance review decisions and execution, and approval of overtime and time cards
- Ensure work schedules are maintained and balanced
- Manage and supports the development of the team and provide general administrative functions
- Review testing services and promote additional capacity and process improvement
- Translate technical requirements of the client into providing pricing, timing and technical knowledge for quoting and commercial efforts
job requirement
- Degree in Civil Engineering or Materials Science
- Minimum 10 years of relevant experience
- Experienced as a lead auditor
- Working knowledge of laboratory safety with extensive knowledge of the current suite of testing capabilities
- Must be very familiar with ISO17025 (candidates with Signatories of ISO17025 highly desirable)
