- Translating company's priorities to team to set commodities strategies for division with analytical insights and macro-economic trends
- Conveying strategies to stakeholders and management to build consensus
- Foster effective collaboration and ensure strong communication lines with key stakeholders and management
- Leading team for the implementation of initiatives aligned with strategies set to maintain expert team for deliverance of successful solutions
- Development and implementation of best-in-class commodities management strategies and tools (eg, contract terms/models) that will influence changes beyond the organisation like to specific sectors or industries
- Guide team to build specialist/domain knowledge for different categories, preferably purchases under IT, staff welfare, office supplies, courses etc.
- Work with Stakeholders on critical projects to understand business priorities, and guide team to propose and execute operational strategies with consideration to risk mitigation, proper governance, cost management, sustainability and timelines
- Handle first line of escalations and exception handling of critical projects
- Responsible to monitor and track the progress of implementation of strategies, contracts and projects
Job Requirements:
- Minimum 8 years of relevant experience in procurement, preferably in category management and with at least 5 years in a supervisory capacity
- Strong commercial acumen, situation appraisal and analytical skills, ability to use intelligence from data to strategies and decision making
- Resourceful individual with active listening skills to gather information and anticipate next steps
- High achieving, independent individual with clear communication skills for stakeholder persuasion and management reporting
- Good project management skills to deliver results with given resources and timelines
- Strong understanding of contracting principles, capable of devising different contract solutions aligned with the business needs and market practices
- Good awareness of the industry best practices and available tools and systems, preferably in SAP S4 HANA and ARIBA.
