We are looking for a talented software engineer versed in Cobol delivery and mainframe architecture concepts to act as a technical expert for our fledgling team in Singapore.
We’re looking for someone like that to:
- engage in technical designs with the goal to achieve the best possible solution
- will help us to build up a new strategic location in Singapore
- conduct code reviews and to engage in the testing of the software (test-driven development is a known term for you)
- support the team in troubleshooting of production issues (L3 support)
- contribute to the reduction of all security and operational risks, in line with the UBS policies and standards
- take ownership and drive deliveries within a supportive team environment
- be comfortable within a fast moving Agile team delivering in frequent cycles
- embrace the complex derivatives on the platform and enjoy the challenge of simplifying and rationalizing
Your team:
You will work in a highly collaborative environment with colleagues from globally diverse backgrounds and skillsets coming together to solve challenging problems as a team. The position is within our Be a Client stream closely collaborating with the part of Agile delivery units distributed across the globe. Our teams design, deliver and operate banking product, maintenance systems that offer best-in-class services to the bank’s clients.

Your expertise:
Demonstrating a track record as mainframe tech lead with many years of experience in development, maintenance and production support using Software Development Life Cycles (SDLC) such as Agile & Scrum you will be able to walk us through your professional achievements and skills:
- extensive technical knowledge of z/OS & z/Abacus programming in COBOL, DB2, CICS and SQL
- good knowledge of MQ and Filetransfer
- familiar with OPC scheduling, knowing how to interpret the schedules
- solid understanding of JCL and IBM Debugger
- experience in test driven development, continuous integration & deployment
- hands-on experience in GitLab-facilitated software delivery
