Software Development Engineer (2-year Contract)
The Development Engineer holds a pivotal position within the firm's Delivery and Support Group, directly reporting to the Technical Delivery Manager. This role is instrumental in driving application delivery for customers and overseeing application development and implementation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Engage in gathering requirements and producing essential technical and operational documentation.
- Collaborate closely with Solution Architects/Technical Leads to analyze and design code changes based on finalized requirement specifications.
- Execute code modifications and conduct rigorous system testing in accordance with specified requirements.
- Ensure strict adherence to coding and security standards, as well as corporate processes.
- Perform comprehensive quality assurance (QA) tasks including unit testing, system testing, and code reviews.
- Actively participate in system integration testing, providing support to the Test Team and resolving any encountered issues.
- Provide support to both internal and external stakeholders throughout all testing phases.
- Assist customers during acceptance testing and post-cutover implementation.
- Contribute to the development of training materials and deliver presentations as needed.
Requirements:
- Hold a Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Computer Science/Engineering or an equivalent field.
- Possess robust technical expertise with a minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience in Java, JEE, Oracle, SQL/PLSQL, and XML. Familiarity with MySQL is advantageous.
- Proficient in web technologies including HTML5, CSS, Modular design, Angular (5 & above) or React, and various open-source JS frameworks.
- Experienced in working with RESTful APIs, Spring 5.x, Spring Boot, Cloud-Based technologies, and Microservices, including Messaging Middleware such as Kafka/IBM MQ/Solace.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Demonstrate analytical thinking, problem-solving capabilities, and sound decision-making skills.
- Possess a positive attitude and excel as a team player.
- Previous domain knowledge and experience in the financial industry/payments systems are highly desirable.
