Job Description & Requirements
As the Procurement Lead, you will be responsible for managing all aspects of procurement for the construction project. You will develop and implement procurement strategies, negotiate contracts with suppliers and subcontractors, and ensure that materials and services are procured in a timely and cost-effective manner while maintaining quality standards.
Responsibilities:
· Develop and implement procurement strategies and policies to support the construction project's goals and objectives.
· Identify potential suppliers and subcontractors, solicit bids and proposals, and evaluate proposals to select the best value for the project.
· Negotiate contracts, terms, and conditions with suppliers and subcontractors to ensure favorable pricing, quality, and delivery terms.
· Establish and maintain relationships with suppliers and subcontractors, monitoring performance and addressing issues as needed.
· Collaborate with project stakeholders to forecast procurement needs, develop procurement plans, and ensure alignment with project schedules and budgets.
· Coordinate with project teams to review specifications, drawings, and other requirements to ensure accurate procurement of materials and services.
· Manage the procurement process from requisition to receipt, including purchase order issuance, expediting deliveries, and resolving discrepancies.
· Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, standards, and company policies in all procurement activities.
· Monitor market trends, supplier performance, and industry developments to identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements.
· Prepare reports, budgets, and other documentation related to procurement activities and present findings to project management as needed.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in procurement, preferably in the construction industry.
- Strong knowledge of procurement processes, principles, and best practices.
- Proven experience in negotiating contracts and managing supplier relationships.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to analyze data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions.
- Proficiency in procurement software and Microsoft Office suite.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Certification in procurement or supply chain management (e.g., CPSM, CSCP) is a plus.
