DevOps Engineer
Abaxx Exchange is seeking a DevOps Engineer to help us build commodity futures exchange and clearing systems.
DevOps Engineer responsibilities include deploying product updates, identifying production issues and implementing integrations that meet customer needs. If you have a solid background in software engineering and are familiar with Terraform and Python, we would like to meet you. Ultimately, you will execute and automate operational processes fast, accurately and securely.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Automation and continuous deployment
- Implement integrations to connect back-end systems
- Build tools to reduce occurrences of errors and improve customer experience
- Perform root cause analysis for production errors
- Develop Observability dashboard – Logs, metrics, traces.
- Investigate and resolve technical issues
- Provide Level 2 technical support
- Design procedures for system troubleshooting and maintenance
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or relevant field
- 3+ years of professional experience as a DevOps Engineer or similar software engineering role
- Good knowledge of a programming language – Terraform, Python, JS, HTML, REACT
- Working knowledge of Unix based systems, databases, and SQL (cloud database hosting Problem-solving attitude
- Experience/knowledge of working on a cloud platform (AWS/GCP/Azure)
- Familiarity with any one of the CI/CD tools (Jenkins, Github Actions, Circles CI, GitLab, AWS Code Commit)
- Knowledge of DevSecOps, OWASP Top 10, web hosting.
- Exposure/understanding of networking concepts CDN, DNS, TLS, Edge computing, etc.
- Business domains: Exposure to Financial institutes in trading space, experience of working in an exchange or clearing house.
- Knowledge of derivatives, futures and options instruments advantageous
- Exposure to tools/concepts like: containerization, dockers, AWS Fargate, EKS, RDS, Cloudfront, Route 53, Cloudflare, VPC, IAM roles, AWS Control Tower
- Familiarity with monitoring, log aggregation and observability tools – ELK, promtail, loki, Grafanna, Prometheus, splunk, DataDog etc.
- Independent, self driven and enjoy working in a team
- Knowledge/experience of ITIL – Change, Incident and Release management
