Job Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Desktop Engineer with expertise in Windows 10 and 11 operating systems.
Mandatory Skill-set
- Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering;
- Experience as a Desktop Engineer with a focus on Windows 10 and 11 operating systems;
- Strong knowledge of desktop hardware components, peripherals, and their configuration;
- Experience as a System administrator, provide support ,troubleshoot and maintain computer servers and networks;
- Proficiency in diagnosing and resolving technical issues related to desktop computing;
- Familiarity with software deployment tools and methodologies;
- Experience with Active Directory, Group Policy, and system security configurations;
- Knowledge of networking such as Fortinet, Sophos and Cisco switch, router, and firewall;
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users;
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
Desired Skill-set
- Relevant certifications such as CompTIA A+, Microsoft Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator;
- Familiarity with scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell) for automation and administration;
- Experience with virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V).
Responsibilities
- Install, configure, and maintain Windows 10 and 11 operating systems on desktop computers, laptops, and other end-user devices;
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve hardware and software issues related to desktop computing, ensuring minimal downtime and disruption to end users;
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deploy software applications, updates, and patches across the desktop environment;
- Implement and manage security measures, including antivirus software, firewalls, and encryption, to safeguard against potential threats and vulnerabilities;
- Monitor and optimize system performance, ensuring efficient utilization of hardware resources and responsiveness of user applications;
- Provide technical support and guidance to end users, addressing inquiries, resolving problems, and offering training as needed;
- Create and maintain documentation related to system configurations, processes, and troubleshooting procedures;
- Participate in IT projects related to desktop infrastructure upgrades, migrations, and technology refresh initiatives;
- Stay current with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies related to desktop engineering and Windows operating systems.
