The regional Product management team at ShopBack is crucial in connecting our commercial, engineering, design and data teams with our customers and merchants. In this role, you will play an important role in implementing strategy, road maps and features, while adhering to business goals. Our Merchant product team focuses on building a unified platform to serve business users and merchants within the ShopBack ecosystem, where merchants can enjoy different services with a one-stop solution. With a comprehensive analysis of different services, we aim to provide our merchants with an excellent user experience across all our markets and platforms. Using centralized merchant data, our team continuously explores systematic ways to expand the scale of merchants, and optimize our operating efficiency to ensure that our merchants have the best possible experience while working with us.
Responsibilities
- Lead strategy/ product direction, owning the end to end merchant experience
- Identify industry trends, conduct market / competitor / user research for Merchant products and tools
- Manage senior stakeholders - have strategy and planning discussions with business leaders and provide execution updates, co-own financial targets for the performance of the product
- Identify key levers that have the most impact on business, and share creative product solutions
- Work with a diverse and multicultural team from diverse backgrounds
- Lead a team of product managers - take ownership of merchant products, from product ideation, design, technical development, testing and roll out, to post-launch improvements and iterations
- Partner closely with engineering, UX, data, operations and finance leaders and local / regional teams to build product solutions for merchants in each market
- Collaborate closely with product marketing and commercial teams to drive GTM strategy, ensure strong internal stakeholder communication in place
- Merchant products include ecommerce platform plugins, ShopBack for Business, merchant payment app & API integration product, merchant settlement & reporting, centralized & automated merchant data service, and other merchant tools
Requirements
- A proven history of success in product management roles: min 5 years in product management and have grown to lead product manager roles and have shipped products as an individual contributor and also have led teams to ship products with well defined metrics
- People management experience: you’ve been responsible for performance management, have navigated tough conversations with direct reports, and you feel comfortable supporting product managers to achieve their career goals
- Entrepreneurial mindset: you must be comfortable rolling up your sleeves, thriving in ambiguity, and getting the work done with uncertainties and able to react fast to change when needed
- Prior experience in owning / driving the building and shipping of complex, SaaS products at scale is preferred, must have good understanding about B2B products, compared to B2C products
- Prior experience in managing complicated systems (e.g. payment system, trade system, order system, merchant platform) is preferred
- Passionate about pushing boundaries and creating value in your product space - the role is not about just doing the minimal, genuine excitement for solving problems and a strong sense of empathy for merchants and their staff are needed
- Strong communication skills to effectively communicate business or technical information with different audiences verbally or in writing.
- Bachelor’s degree required, computer science related disciplines are preferred
