The School of Civil and Environmental Engineering (CEE) is a leading school for Sustainable Built Environment. CEE is inviting applications for the position of Research Fellow. The Research Fellow will work on a project on the demonstration of and study on continuous thermal hydrolysis and pyrolysis for sludge management and pyrolytic carbon application.
Key Responsibilities:
- Responsible for new low carbon concrete development (e.g. via incorporation of biochar or other carbon materials where they are securely stored but also enhance concrete property in different ways);
- In charge of testing of all relevant aspects of advanced concrete material developed;
- Conduct cost-benefit and LCA analysis of the material developed.
Job Requirements:
- PhD degree from a renowned university in Material Science, Civil Engineering, Chemical Engineering or related fields with relevant research experience/expertise and strong journal publication record.
- Prior experience on similar research and strong record of journal publication and/or IP generation will be favourably reviewed.
- Extensive knowledge on low carbon concrete/geopolymer material.
- Familiar with relevant analytical and experimental technique/skills, hands-on experience as well as solid theoretical background; excellent paper/report writing skills.
