As the Bar Manager at Violet Oon, you will lead the bar operations with a focus on delivering exceptional guest experiences, ensuring compliance with regulations, and optimizing beverage sales. This role requires strong managerial skills, industry expertise, and a proactive approach to enhancing bar performance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Guest Experience: Oversee the entire bar operation to ensure a seamless and memorable guest experience from arrival to departure.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure strict adherence to safety, sanitation codes, and regulatory rules set by government agencies.
- Sales Strategy: Develop and implement sales strategies to meet and exceed beverage sales targets, including effective upselling techniques.
- Inventory Management: Manage inventory levels, minimize wastage, conduct regular inventory checks, and oversee stock ordering and storage.
- Team Leadership: Lead, train, and motivate bar staff to deliver high-quality service, maintain cleanliness, and uphold service standards.
- Financial Management: Monitor bar expenses, contribute to budget planning, and optimize profitability while maintaining quality.
- Customer Service: Interact with guests, handle customer inquiries or complaints, and ensure prompt resolution to enhance guest satisfaction.
- Event Coordination: Collaborate with the manager on event/function beverage requirements, coordinating with staff to ensure successful execution.
- Equipment Maintenance: Ensure all bar equipment is in optimal working condition, conduct regular maintenance checks, and address any issues promptly.
- Reporting: Prepare regular reports on sales performance, inventory levels, and operational efficiency for management review.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements, implement best practices, and contribute to overall operational excellence.
Minimum Qualifications / Experience:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Food & Beverage Management or related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in bar management, preferably in a high-volume establishment.
- Strong knowledge of spirits, wine, and beverage trends, with a focus on quality and innovation.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Proven track record of driving sales, managing teams, and delivering exceptional customer service.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office suite and point-of-sale (POS) systems.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
