The Electrical Engineer will be participating actively in the Master Plan program and interfacing with relevant stakeholders over different phases of its implementation. They will work with appointed consultants to develop feasible and sustainable technical proposals and/or strategies to meet the hospital operations’ requirements of the future as well as minimizing electrical services disruption in the course of demolition and development works planned. Lastly, the Electrical Engineer essentially is to assist the Electrical Trade Lead in overseeing the performance of outsourced maintenance service provider and appointed specialist system vendors by the hospital in completing the maintenance program to ensure the availability and functionality of the installed Electrical systems at all times.
Responsibilities
- Provide technical support and assistance to the Master Plan Project team to access and acquire information (eg data collection) on the hospital’s infrastructure and installed systems.
- Attend and participate in relevant meetings (design planning, interface, technical clarification, etc.) as per planned schedule to provide technical inputs as needed.
- Support and input to the consultants’ technical & design proposal to meet hospital’s operation needs and minimizing Electrical system and related services disruption.
- Coordinate internally for design and interface coordination through the various transition phases of the Master Plan.
- Review and input to consultant’s proposed work plans and schedules to achieve control, compatibility and coordinated objective to avoid and minimise operation disruptions.
- Assist and Involve in the execution of planned interfacing works with the consultants and appointed vendor.
- Work closely with facilities management team members on system breakdown investigations, inspections, audits and review of planned maintenance program.
- To lead and/or provide support in the incident investigation of system failure/outage to determine root cause of failure as far as possible and practicable.
- To respond and support the Maintenance Managing Agent and specialist system vendors in mitigating and recovery of reported critical system failure or incident.
- To analyze Electrical systems breakdown incidences and recommend preventive and/or improvement plan.
- Review and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and working instructions on a regular basis in compliance to prevailing authorities and hospital policies (EMA, SSCP, NUHS Legal, IT Security, Procurement & Finance)
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree / Diploma in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
- Degree Holder – At least Five (5) years of relevant working experiences; OR
- Diploma Holder – At least 10 years of relevant working experiences
- Good writing and presentation skills.
- Positive work attitude and ability to work with all levels of staffs.
- Previous experience in Electrical systems installation work.
- Possesses BCA Green Mark certification and/or related experiences.
