Regulatory Compliance Specialist

Regulatory Compliance Specialist role is integral to a MNC bank's Singapore Independent Compliance Risk Management team. The role is responsible for collaborating with the team in reviewing and remediating items in the Singapore Regulatory Inventory (RI), particularly focusing on dissecting selected complex Singapore Acts and Regulations into thematic publications within the RI framework aligned with Singapore Regulators' structures. The aim is to ensure comprehensive capture and risk-rating of all applicable Laws, Rules, and Regulations (LRR) according to GRC Risk taxonomy.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Restructure key complex Acts and Regulations within the RI, breaking down each into thematic publications.
  • Analyze and structure major Singapore Acts and Regulations such as the Banking Act, Securities and Futures Act, Financial Advisers Act, etc.
  • Enrich the RI at both publication and obligation levels.
  • Perform manual mapping of publications and obligations if required.

Knowledge/Experience:

  • Expertise in Singapore laws, rules, regulations, risks, and typologies.
  • Paralegal experience or proficiency in legal analysis, interpretation, and documentation.
  • Ability to analyze laws, rules, and Regulations, interpret them, and assess their potential applicability to financial services entities.
  • Understanding of control and compliance risk management.
  • Capability to articulate complex problems and solutions clearly and concisely.
  • Familiarity with the regulatory framework and financial services/products in Singapore.
  • Fluent in English.
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

Qualifications and skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree; legal experience; expertise in compliance or related control functions in financial services firms, regulatory organizations, or legal/consulting firms, or a combination thereof.
  • Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with team members.
  • Analytical skills and result-driven approach.

The work location will be in the Downtown.
