Housekeeping Supervisor

Job Purpose

The Housekeeper Supervisor is responsible in managing the entire housekeeping operations and team on a daily basis to ensure that the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene are maintained.


Principal Accountabilities

  1. Supervise housekeeping staff, preparing schedules, assigning duties and providing guidance and performance feedback.
  2. Inspect work performed by the housekeeping staff and provide feedback.
  3. Maintain inventory of housekeeping supplies, coordinating or ordering replacements and equipment repair.
  4. Respond to guests’ requests, inquiries and manage lost and found.
  5. Ensure a high level of customer service is performed at all times.
  6. Maintain high level of hygiene, health and safety by adhering to Company policies and procedures at all times.
  7. Facilitate housekeeping staff training on standard operating procedures, safety policies and health/sanitation regulations.
  8. Inspect premises, common area and/or guest rooms to ensure compliance to Company procedures and health/sanitation regulations.
  9. Ensure that a detailed daily log is maintained for any incidents and shifts handover.
  10. Performs other duties pertinent to this job as assigned.

Communication & Working Relationships

  1. Communicates professionally with superiors and subordinates while keeping a productive working environment
  2. Trains and coach Housekeeping staff on personal and work-related hygiene, cleaning techniques and skills.

Knowledge, Skills, and Experience

  1. Hospitality Management degree with an emphasis on hygiene and safety
  2. Minimum 3 years of experience in similar positions – preferably in 5 stars hotel
  3. Good in English
  4. Computer knowledge
  5. Excellent communications skills
  6. Detail oriented
  7. Problem-solving skills
  8. Highly cooperative team spirit
  9. Coaching and training skills
  10. Positive and energy level
  11. Ability to work safely in a fast-paced kitchen environment
  12. Ability to work in a high stress, faced-paced environment
  13. Must possess strong leadership skills, with demonstrated ability to build relationships and manage staff (at all levels)

Physical Requirements of the job


The job of the Housekeeping Supervisor may require:

  1. Long hours, covering different shifts and working during public holidays
  2. Physical handling of products such as handling objects up to 25 kilograms
  3. Stressful conditions
