Technical Responsibilities
- Review client and industry specifications to identify specific requirements for project execution.
- Assist the project management team in procurement requisitions.
- Review of vendor technical bids for technical compliance.
- Assist in reviewing and accepting documentation issued by the vendor for project execution.
- Assist in the development of P&IDs from pre-award to project execution and as well as review any client or vendor’s P&IDs to ensure correctness and alignment to project requirements and documentation.
- Review and generate SIL verification documentation as and when required.
- Provide engineering support for the department manager in sales proposal bids such as preliminary design, estimates for manhours and materials estimates.
- Provide technical support to project team for on-going projects and resolve any technical issue on site.
- Potentially require to attend FATs and inspections.
- Adheres to and complies with engineering procedures and standards and provides constructive feedback for continuous improvement. Identifies potential applications for new processes and technologies to improve productivity and efficiency
- Ensures effective communication and interface between all disciplines for design and development.
- Participates in internal audits and investigations as required.
- Establishes and maintains effective working relationships internally. Engages with inter-discipline community and promotes networking and knowledge sharing
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Instrumentation and Control Engineering or equivalent engineering specialisation from an accredited university
- 5+ years professional design engineering in refining, petrochemical, chemical, pharmaceutical or related industry
- Knowledge in refinery or petrochemical plant standards, experience on brownfield projects and site experience is an advantage
- Familiar with international codes and standards
- Have good understanding of industry standards with a view to development ESHR requirements for Hazardous Area Certification requirements for entire equipment package
- Have some form of experience in Burner Management System and Fuel Gas System
- Have good understanding and able to identify valve, orifice, pressure relief valve, field instrumentation and etc.
- Excellent technical communication (oral and written) skills with proven ability to present technical issues to design teams and project engineering teams
- Self-starter and be able to work with minimal supervision, make sound decisions, take independent action, analyse problems, and provide focused solutions to assigned projects
- Possess strong inter-personal and communication skills and be able to work well with people at all levels
- Willing to travel as required
